Every Note Counts is an encounter between two uncompromising minds: Krug Cellar Master Julie Cavil and genre-defying composer, pianist, and producer Max Richter. A dialogue driven by a shared pursuit of precision and experimentation.

Drawing inspiration from every note of Krug Clos d’Ambonnay 2008, Krug 2008, and Krug Grande Cuvée 164ème Édition, Max Richter envisioned three musical pieces: Clarity, Ensemble, and Sinfonia – three variations on 2008. From vineyard to studio, from Reims to Oxfordshire, this is an exploration of a shared vision: that craft lies in the detail. A testament that – whether in Champagne or in music – every note counts.

Pencil Building

On a site just 3.8 metres wide near Kumagaya Station, Ono Architect Office and Sigma Construction have built a three-story wooden pencil building in Japan that connects two streets while housing a vintage store and rental tenants.

The client has been running a second-hand clothing store in the area for many years, so the plan places the store and office on the top floor while renting out the first and second floors. The building also functions as a passage, allowing people to walk through from the station side to the quieter street behind.

The Jyubako Suites

At the Snow Peak Campfield in Long Beach, Washington, the Jyubako Suites offer a minimalist retreat designed by architect Kengo Kuma.

These mobile micro-cabins provide a refined camping experience for guests seeking comfort in nature. Each wood-paneled unit contains one queen bed and a small kitchenette.

Granular Chelsea: To Cheslea

We had the pleasure in late January of visiting the Royal Hospital Chelsea with the RHS to see our plot ahead of the May build.

This gave us a chance to assess any site level changes, review the tree canopy overhang and discuss boundaries with neighbours. Our plot MA322, sits mid way along Main Avenue.
