For Yu Hui Tseng, drinking tea isn’t simply a daily habit or a cultural norm, but a spiritual practice at the very core of her being. A Chinese tea master, Tseng describes flavours with a rich, refined specificity.

In ‘Her Scents of Pu Er’, the Paris-based filmmaker Anna-Claria Ostasenko Bogdanoff visits Maître Tseng in the tea cellar beneath her salon, Maison des Trois Thés (House of the Three Teas) in Paris.

Flower Pressing at Charleston House

Join Jam Jar Edit for a very special Flower Pressing Workshop on Tuesday 23rd July at Charleston House, East Sussex, from 10am - 4pm.

Charleston is the modernist home and studio of the painters Vanessa Bell and Duncan Grant, and was a gathering point for some of the 20th century’s most radical artists, writers and thinkers known collectively as the Bloomsbury group. The workshop includes unique access to Charleston House and a private tour of the walled garden to gather inspiration. Over the course of the day you will learn how to select, prepare and press a variety of seasonal flowers found in the cutting garden, as well as how to work with pressed specimens to make your own pressed flower artworks.

Warakuen

Warakuen is a Japanese-style landscape design project by Hajime Yoshida located in Johana, Toyama Prefecture, Japan.

The design features black concrete walls that create a sequence within the Japanese garden, allowing visitors to experience the changing scenery throughout the four seasons. To bring order to the expansive site, a folly is positioned at its centre. A 45-degree angled black wall within the folly guides visitors along its path. The existing well on the site is covered with stone to mark the beginning of a new narrative. Stone benches and tables are integrated into the landscape, enhancing the garden’s functionality and aesthetics.
